Summer Peppers Are Shipping
Our ornamental peppers have colored up nicely and are shipping now. For a quick splash of bright orange, red, or purple, consider adding peppers to combinations and window boxes. They are also effective in the center of low autumn landscape designs, or dressing up the front of taller material. You will find that we have a unique assortment—every one is an eye-catcher:
‘Chilly Chili’ (4.5, 6, and 8-inch pot): Long, slender greenish-yellow fruit changes to orange, then dark red; these peppers are not hot.
‘Calico’ (4.5, 6, and 8-inch pot): Purple, green, and white variegated foliage is topped with extremely hot purple fruits that mature to red.
‘Red Missile’ (6-inch pot): Hot tapered fruits change from cream to orange to bright red as they mature.
‘Black Pearl’ (4.5, 6, and 8-inch pot): Pure glossy black foliage is covered in black fruit that matures to rich dark red; round peppers taper at the base and are very hot.
‘Purple Flash’ (4.5 and 6-inch pot): Almost-black leaves are splashed with purple; small round purple fruits are extremely hot.
‘Medusa’ (4.5 and 6-inch pot): Long, slender yellow peppers mature to red; it looks like its namesake’s hairdo. This dwarf variety is child-safe.
‘Sangria’ (4.5 and 8-inch pot): Small upright peppers in shades of bright orange, red, crimson, scarlet, magenta, lilac, and purple resemble strings of Christmas lights; mild in taste.
‘Masquerade’ (4.5-inch pot): Clusters of fiery hot peppers turn from green to purple to orange-red as they mature.
‘Pumpkin Pepper’ (8-inch pot): Green-to-black foliage is topped with fruits that are shaped like miniature orange-red pumpkins.
A couple of key peppers to carry:
‘Calico’ draws people in with its unusual variegated foliage. We never miss a chance to use it in a planting near an entryway or along the walkway in a high traffic garden.
‘Pumpkin Pepper’ is a must for the autumn holidays. With fruit that truly resembles a miniature pumpkin it makes a distinctly different garden or décor centerpiece.
