We’ve sung the praises of SunPatiens^® on more than one occasion. This hybrid series from Sakata is one we turn to again and again for classic impatiens flower power in sun-loving form. These plants thrive in the heat and humidity, and you can see the size of the flowers.

Compact SunPatiens^® have strong retail appeal

This year we have some eye-catching new Compact selections—we find that the Compact SunPatiens^® have strong retail appeal. From a design standpoint, we know we can count on them for continuous color—through all kinds of weather—for the whole season, from spring to hard frost. They require very little maintenance and are unaffected by the dreaded downy mildew.

SunPatiens® are the plants we use when we want bold color for large commercial displays. We plant them en masse for mounds of vivid blooms—as a centerpiece in a sprawling corporate office park, or to edge a long, winding walkway. For a dramatic pinwheel effect, alternate solid blocks of color. 

Our new selections pair well with most other flowering annuals for sun and look great in combination planters and hanging baskets. Ornamental grasses make a stunning backdrop for the brilliant blooms:

‘Compact Pink’ has an abundance of pretty pink flowers. We grow this variety in the 4.5-inch pot as well.

For a bolder statement, go with brilliant ‘Compact Neon Pink’. It comes in the 1801 flat landscape tray, 4.5 and 6-inch pots, and the 10-inch hanging basket.
