Lascar™ Verbena: New for Spring
Verbena ‘Lascar™ Black Velvet’
In the summer landscape, verbena is a sun-loving staple. It’s prized for its vivid colors but this plant is as tough as it is good-looking, standing up to heat, humidity, and drought like a trooper. Verbena is also known for its long bloom season; flowers start in mid-spring and keep going until frost, outlasting many other annual and perennial varieties. All in all, it’s an important tool in the designer’s tool box.
‘Lascar™ Pink’
We often use verbena at the front of a bed or as a low-growing groundcover, but it has a tendency to sprawl. Our new Lascar™ series has solved the problem: these plants have a compact, mounded habit that stays under control. They spread about 12–16 inches and are still vigorous enough to easily fill out pots and baskets.
‘Lascar™ White’
Lascar™ varieties maintain the strong garden performance that verbena is known for and they flower early. Look at these big, bright blooms—they’re saturated with color. The clusters are nice and full in the center, too. We like that—it makes for a bold presentation. This series turns heads in the garden center.
‘Dark Red’
Verbena is easy to grow—just give it plenty of sun and adequate drainage. Deadheading will keep the blooms coming continuously. Vivid Lascar™ flowers look great in hanging baskets and patio pots, in addition to sunny landscape beds.
‘Hot Rose’
Our Lascar™ selections are available in the 4.5-inch pot. We have the following varieties: ‘Bright Pink’, ‘Black Velvet’ (deep purple), ‘Burgundy’ (dark pink), ‘Dark Red’, ‘Hot Rose’ (bright pink), ‘Pink’, and ‘White’.
