We have a large assortment of autumn edibles in the popular 1801 flat size. These delicious, healthy greens and veggies perform best in the cool fall weather—so crisp, fresh salads and stir-fries can continue on even after summer ends.
Harvest fresh kale for a healthy salad
Here’s a rundown of some varieties we have on hand:
BROCCOLI
‘Lieutenant’—smooth dark green heads are full of classic flavor
‘Destiny’—dwarf, heat-tolerant plants produce broccoli with smooth, rounded domes
‘Jade Cross’
BRUSSELS SPROUTS
‘Jade Cross’—produces high yields of deep green sprouts; plants are compact so they’re less subject to wind damage
‘Fast Vantage’ for medium-sized heads
CABBAGE
‘Chinese Blue’— elongated leaves are tender and lighter in color than other Chinese cabbages
‘Fast Vantage’—produces high yields of medium-sized heads, weighing 2-1/2 pounds each; tolerates some heat but loves the cold
‘Red Jewel’— one of the best red cabbages, with large, tightly packed heads of crisp ruby leaves
Heirloom ‘Self Blanche’
CAULIFLOWER
‘Self Blanche’—leaves on this heirloom variety curl upward to wrap around the head, protecting it from the sun
Finely curled leaves of ‘Blue Vates’
KALE
‘Blue Vates’—finely curled blue-green leaves form low, compact plants
‘Mesclun’ mix
LETTUCE
‘Buttercrunch’—soft leaves have a buttery texture and some heat resistance
‘Mesclun’—a mix of colors and textures; it can be harvested continuously
