An Exclusive Tradition

We’re pleased once again to offer our beautiful Hearthside planter for the holiday season. This Diefenbacher exclusive has become a tradition for many customers, we know—but it’s a tradition for us, too. Creating these distinctive arrangements puts us in the holiday spirit and that’s a nice perk of the job this time of year. 

Designed high and showy to use as a focal point

Now if you’ve been following the color of our poinsettia crop via our Facebook broadcasts, you got a behind-the-scenes peek at the making of a Hearthside. Our talented designer, Gayla, took you through a few tricks of the trade using our quality poinsettias and some of the components we talked about last week. She makes it seem so easy but her arrangements are truly special.

When Gayla says we give each planter its own unique personality, she isn’t kidding—we’re still trying to find two that are exactly alike. That’s part of the charm of the Hearthside planter: offering the customer a one-of-a-kind combination that they’re not going to find at the grocery store. We find that when it comes to holiday décor these days there’s an ever increasing desire to stand out from the crowd.

Pink keeps the seasonal vibe fresh and current 

Clearly, the Hearthside stands out. Our aim was to offer an arrangement that would fill an immense space without getting lost, and I believe we’ve met that goal. We design this piece high and showy in a 24-inch rectangular planter—so it’s long, too. A Hearthside makes a stately focal point for churches, halls, malls, or other large venues where people gather to celebrate the season.

Each has its own unique personality

For variety, the Hearthside planter can be made in red, white, pink, or any of the other novelty poinsettia varieties we sell, though classic red is still the leader of the pack. There seems to be a little holiday magic in that red-green-silver combo that keeps it a customer favorite after all these years—but mixing in a few unexpected colors keeps the seasonal vibe fresh and current. We also make this arrangement in a 14-inch round planter.
