Cottage Garden Bowls for 2017
A Bowlful of color to cure the winter doldrums
Although we’ve had some mild days already, many customers are still apprehensive about purchasing color so early on in the season. True, the nights can remain chilly all the way into April, but once March rolls around we’re all looking for a little brightness to lead us out of the winter blahs. This quest for early, easy, cool-tolerant color led us to create one of our signature—and most popular—products: the Cottage Garden Bowl.
Vibrant, fun, and cool-tolerant
It’s back again and freshly updated for 2017, with vibrant colors and fun textures that stand up to the cooler temps of March and April. Each planter is unique, filled with a mix of pansies, violas, and early spring accents that pack a vivid punch when cheery color is hard to find. As part of a landscape design or for enhancing home décor, this is a combo that is safe to keep outdoors in the brisk weather.
True spring color early in the season
We put a great deal of care into designing each custom mix, using cool-loving décor plants we developed here at Diefenbacher. As veteran growers of frost-tolerant crops we know how to finish them properly—for true spring color very early on that will stand up to the last vestiges of winter.
Pansy-friendly weather is Cottage Garden Bowl-friendly
Be wary of a heavy frost or freeze, however; it’s the rare deal-breaker. Bring bowls inside if temperatures dip into the thirties. One rule of thumb: if the weather is pansy-friendly it’s usually Cottage Garden Bowl-friendly as well.
Individual personalities that get along well together
These arrangements are great for porches, steps, tabletops—or anywhere that needs brightening with a quick splash of spring color. While each has its own personality, they mix together nicely and make an even greater impact when we group them together.
Plant several in a bed for an easy drop-and-go garden
For a pretty spring garden right away, simply plant several Cottage Garden Bowls together in a bed. They fill a space quickly and are drop-and-go easy; plus they’re cost-effective, coming in at around the same price as ordinary pansy bowls of the same size.
Our Cottage Garden Bowl for 2017 is available in the 10-inch planter.
